Dr
Nikki Honey

Nikki has almost 20 years experience in research and evaluation, mainly in the social and government sector. Nikki has worked in both qualitative and quantitative research and managed many evaluations. Her major areas of work at the Social Research Centre include seminal survey research measuring community attitudes to violence against women, health surveillance research, large scale community attitudinal survey research, various job-seeker program evaluations and longitudinal survey programs.

Many of the projects Nikki has undertaken include working with vulnerable populations, including young persons, persons with an Indigenous background, those with disability or another health condition, persons who have experienced violence and persons from a non-English speaking background.

Nikki has considerable experience in survey and evaluation design, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques to develop methodologically sound instruments.

Experience and Expertise

Nikki is a highly experienced social researcher and evaluation expert. Her responsibilities have included managing all stages of the research and evaluation cycles including the preparation and delivery of reports and presentations, survey design and interpretation of results and statistics.

As a result of her research experience and academic studies Nikki has also developed a sound knowledge of the use and application of multivariate statistics.

Particular interests include research into social determinants of health and health research, large scale survey design and management, longitudinal research, survey development and evaluation.

Education and Affiliations

Nikki has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) qualification from Monash University (majoring in Psychology, Genetics and Immunology) and a Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Melbourne. Nikki’s Doctoral thesis involved an investigation into the influence of attitudes on health and safety behaviours. Nikki is also a full member of the Australian Market and Social Research Society.
